Exhaust set up for cam
Exhaust set up for cam So I'm about to do a head/cam swap on my 02 ws6 and I want to change up my exhaust so it could accommodate the idle on the cam a little better....I currently have Longtubes,ory, slp(magnamouth) catback!
Here's what I want to do..
Put the stock ws6 exhaust(catback) back on
Add some electric cut outs to the y pipe(where the y pipe and header collectors meet
Add some high flow to the y pipe(right before the I pipe)
That way when I want to be quiet I can be and when I want to be loud I will be!
Another option is just putting the stock ws6 catback back on adding the electric cut outs and not adding some high flow cats(I don't know how quiet this would be)...the reasoni want to quiet her down a little is because there has been alot of street racing going on in my area and cops are starting to get real strict about modified exhausts and they're handing out tickets like free candy! And they're sending everyone to the state referee
Please give me any comments, suggestions and even other ideas!!!

What you need to do is first get the exhaust the way you want it that accommodates your tolerance for noise then get the cam speced around your setup because you will be more exhaust restrictive.
At this point "I" don't care how loud it is, I just don't want to get pulled over for being so loud, I just want to be quiet when I'm driving around And I want to be loud and unrestricted when I race....I'm gonna get dynotuned with the cut outs open, the stock catback and high flows Are just gonna be there for when I drive Around town and I don't want to attract the wrong attention
