how long to change a cam
i was just wondering how long it takes to swap a cam if thats the only mod your doing. by some one who actually knows what they are doing not myself.
Are you literally doing just the cam, or also swapping springs, pushrods, oil pump etc?
A complete cam swap should be 6-8 hours with all that stuff. Just the cam, maybe half that.

Easy question to ask, impossible to answer accurately...sort of like "How long is a piece of string?"
I've seen a 2-man team at a professional shop (not a sponsor, don't ask) do a cam and valvespring swap in just under 4 hours taking only a potty break here and there. That included measuring all 16 installed heights w/ the new locks and retainers, and measuring for new pushrods. They were very organized, hardly said a word during the project, and I didn't see either one make a return trip to the toolbox...they each had every socket, extension, etc. the first time they walked up to the car. They weren't rushing either, just impressive to watch.
Having done two cam swaps on mine, I'd be surprised if the job could be done faster than that.

mmmmmmm really depend how many beers you got to drink the more the faster it gets done, my car is ran on alcohol
the hardest part my guess would be getting the lifters not to fall down when your pulling the cam out
