Default balancer help

iam building a 408 iron block for a nova and the aftermarket front sub frame takes accessory drive kit 19155067(gm part kit) and it gives me a balancer part to use so everything lines up. my question is, isnt the balancer they tell you to use ( part # 12620556 ) a balancer that takes some sort of shim or seal on the snout? is there another balancer i can use to keep it all in line?

High output GM LS motors came with a diamond-impregnated "anti-spin" friction disc between the balancer and oil pump gear. Low HP cars/trucks did not get this. The disc is only ~ 0.050" thick and leaving it out may not hurt your alignment. It may still be available from GM however... I tried to find a pic of this, but Google images isn't cooperating.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was talking about. I will check into it and see if they offer a different balancer. I know I seen a thread about this with pics but can't seem to find it. Thanks for the help.
