Default FAST Throttle Body

Im going to run the FAST truck style 102mm manifold and the fast 102mm throttle body. I am looking at the Big Mouth version and they have the normal Big mouth and the Big mouth with TPS. What is the difference and the advantages/disadvantages of each?

Depends if your truck/car has a tps sensor on your TB. I would consider nick William 102 throttle body ftw!

I'd do the FAST over the NW in the 102.

102s have low-speed problems due to the amount of air they let in. You can tune around it for low-speed driving and idle, but the problem is the amount of air goes from nothing to a lot very quickly with just a very small amount of throttle. That fine tuning is very tough to get perfect. But that's why when you crack the throttle... it's damn near instantaneous throttle response.

FAST actually created an area of turbulence at the bottom of the TB that slows the air down when the blade is partially cracked. This allows for fine tunability of low speed and idle air characteristics.

That will save you or your tuner a lot of time on the tune and ultimately make the car behave much more like stock with the added bonus of excellent tip-in throttle response.

Here is a pic of it on my FAST TB.

In the past the fast 102 TB were giving tuners problems, idk how but I remember a bunch of threads for it to stick to my memory..

I think any good tuner should be able to account for this regardless

in addition to not having the "speed bumps", the nw tb's also leak (substantially) through the throttle blade roller bearings that may or may not cause you some additional tuning issues to the ones typically associated with a 102.

get the fast.

BTW - "TPS" = throttle position sensor. If you still have the one from your stock tb then you can reuse it on the fast, drops right in. if you sold or misplaced it then you need a new one.

The older fast tbs were the ones people had trouble with
A buddy of mine has one on his car and its been a huge pain in the *** tuning it
I dont think the newer ones have the same problems

The FAST 90s were problem children. They fixed the issues with the FAST 92 and the FAST 102 is even more refined.

Get the the FAST TB. We didn't have hardly any trouble with mine when we started tuning it. we shall see how the fine tuning goes next week for the finishing touches.
