Default help me out

ok here it is what cam wood give me a loppy idle increasing hp without changing everything. im eventually gonna rebuild engine but gonna be awhile. so I want alittle more power but want it to sound tough running mainly stock upper end. im not racing it its just a cruiser for now but want it to sound tougher. I wanna do cam and that's it for now. so I need a cam I can throw in and go and not reprogram that has rough idle for ls1 engine(2001). im ok with power now alittle more would be nice but mainly want loppy idle

any cam change is going to need a tune, valve springs, and pushrods at the bare minimum...especially for anything that is big enough to be noticeable like you want

oil pump and timing chain are also highly advised

Please do not try what you're thinking. It doesn't work that way.

Yea from the way you are describing your car I would just get some straigh pipes or mufflers...there is more involved than you are will do get into from what you want...because on top of cam you will needs all the gaskets, timing chain, oil pump, pushrods, valve springs, all on top of a tune...that's at least $1000-1200 in parts and that's if you do your own work, which doesn't sound to me like you will be, so with labor just figure $2000...

I wouldn't think even that would work with stock springs would it?

It works with LS6 springs. And stock pushrods.

It's also a shitload of work to gain 25HP and a little bit of sound.

Save your money. Do it right the first time, and only have to do it once.

Pull a plug wire or two and Disconnect the MAF just before you pul into a parking lot. Car will "lope"surge and buck like crazy and you can tell every one it's a huge cam but not tuned yet
