Just for the sake of discussion... What does everyone think about this monster 451 Gen III Perf. has?

I've read some good things about the HTC components used. The crank is 4.155" stroke. Offset ground 4.125"? All I've read about the 4.125" stroke is OIL CONSUMPTION. I e-mailed Scott to ask but I'm sure he'd rather do business than answer questions. It's a C5R block so I wonder if this would be a good motor for power adder? Wonder if this much displacement is within the C5R's tolerable limits? What do you guys think?

Haha, yeah really. I wanna do an LS1 motor so bad I can't stand it. I mainly was wanting some opinions on that crank setup. I wonder if (since this seems like an offset ground crank) that since it no longer strokes 4.125", would it still cause that odd rod angle that had been causing oil consumption? My understanding of the large displacement LSx motors is they are beyond their limits as far durability goes. Just wanted some input.

 

Gen3 does some AWSOME motors out here in CA.... SCOTT is the MAN when it comes to building and tuning his motors...
i just orderd my H/C set-up threw him and ill post results as soon as i get them!

 

What kind of power do you all think this would thing put down??

 

With the right heads and cam combo (and tune), I would be willing to estimate 575 rwhp. Any other guesses?

 

I have talked to scott in person and he definately knows his ****....as a matter of fact he making me some valve covers right now...

 

I am currently assembling a 383 stroker motor from a kit put together by GENIII. The only drawback I believe to the HTC crankshafts is no reluctor wheel provision, you must use some other form of crank trigger device for timing. They have used these cranks in some seriuos HP cars, I think there is even a link to HTC site of some of their projects.
The kits are shipped well, balanced, and come with high grade parts. Just do not get CP pistons. We spent 6 months dealing with CP to get my pistons. Scott may say otherwise, but I know with my dealing it was pretty poor customer service on the part of CP Pistons.
