LS6 block in a 2002 Z28?
Is it true that some of 2002 Camaro's were fitted with a LS6 block from the factory? If so (which i doubt) how would i be able to tell?

Yep, 10% of 2001 F cars and 25% of 2002 F cars have the LS6 block. A casting # 12561168 means it's the LS6 block. You can find the number on driver's side, at back of left hand deck above transmission flange. Easiest way to find out is look and see if it has a bullseye on the block right under the head on the front of the engine. The bullseye means LS1. Don't get excited or disappointed, though. As I understand, the LS6 block is supposed to be somewhat stronger than the LS1 b/c of a different casting process used. Not much of a difference b/w the two performance wise. I believe the FLS6B has a bit of an edge, but nothing near significant. Be happy you got the LS6 intake from the factory in yours!
