Default Senior Project Help Please!!! LS1

So i have around 2000 to spend on performance upgrades for the motor. Not necessarily set on spending all of that either. The car is a 1988 BMW e30 , the goal is to Daily drive it and autox occasionally. I would like to cam it, I was thinking about a tsp 233/239 but im not sure if i am barking up the wrong tree with that. Intake? Heads? lifters? Headers have already been specified. Tuning isn't a problem. I have access to as much time with hp tuners and a dyno as i need. The motor is a 1998 corvette ls1 with 18k miles on it. Transmission is a T56 with a tick level 1 performance upgrade.

What diameter exhaust should I run all the way back? I would like to X-pipe it as from what i understand that is helpful. Or am i wasting my time? The exhaust will be catless and straight back to magnaflow mufflers (Advice as to which ones?).
Thanks in advance.

Start by contacting these guys, or some others if you choose, and get your valve train squared away. Both of the listed above can get you what you need. They both have impeccable customer service and will work to make you happy not just sell you some parts.

I think 2.5 exhaust will be fine if you can find a shop that will build you the correct "X" pipe and what size headers do you have? Primaries and collector?
