Exclamation Help Please!!!

I have a 1998 Z-28 with 7,000 mi on the engine, 80,000 on the chassis. Mods include k&n filter and the free ram air mod among others. Recently, I took my car in to have it washed. It went in running just fine, but it had to be pushed out. It would not start initially, and I figured that something must have gotten wet. I waited for about an hour and it started fine. When I attempted to return home, I got about a block before the car began to buck and backfire wildly. I pulled over and had it towed the rest of the way home. I have found that it is able to handle any rpm in park or neutral without problems , however, when it is put into any drive gear it will make it about a block before it begins to sputter and get progressively worse. It smells a lot of fuel, I am fairly sure this is some sort of fueling issue. I am not sure the problem was caused by the car wash, or if it was just coincidence.

Ideas?

Did it suck any water into the intake?

You can also check the weather-pack connections to your front O2 sensors. You just may find water in there.

I had a couple O2 extensions (casper electronics with the A/F wire for gauge already spliced in) that weren't water tight and allowed moisture to collect in the connector. Car ran fine until some rain. At idle it ran fine but bucked, chugged, and popped on acceleration. Right side O2 was pegged at dead rich and wasn't switching. I opened the connector and a good bit of water fell out. Dryed the connection, ditched the extensions and problem fixed.
