I believe the ERL sleeves are roughly the same length as the Darton sleeves I install 5.800". The sleeves will support a 4.250" stroke for racing use. I recommend a max. stroke of 4.125" to get some longevity from the engine. You don't want to be pulling the engine down every 20,000 miles to re ring it.

I have done quite a few of these blocks for 454" builds which is what you end up with at 4.185" bore and 4.125" stroke. These engines generally max. out hp around 6,300 to 6,400 rpm unless you spend money on really good heads and a custom intake and a big cam. Keep in mind that the higher you rev the engine the more likely something will break in the valve train over time.

You should have no problem running nines if you can get the suspension dialed in.

Steve is right, ERL uses their own 5.8" long sleeve in a standard deck block, which I believe is what the OP is talking about when he mentioned his resleeved 5.3 block. That SAM engine uses a deck spacer essentially making it a tall deck block before the actual tall deck blocks were available. It obviously will have a longer sleeve and support more stroke, but that's not really relevant here.

I should have re-read the original post. For some reason I thought I all be "had" was the rotator assembly and was going to get the block done at ERL, not that he ordered a block without taking into account the bigger stroke crank.

So the Bottom line is.. 4.100 stroke or 4.125 will make more power, more torque and more RPM over the 4.00 stroke on standard sleeve block!

more stroke is more cubes .you will need the right heads to feed it .buy the cam last .you can play around with tire size to get the rpm right at the strip.you will run mild 9s if you talk to the right people.

For my application
It's just up to what pistons etc are available for what you want to do. The 4.000 is the most common and has the most options. I've even done many 4.250s but those need custom pistons and a sleeved block with longer cylinders. Wiseco has many pistons for the 4.000/4.100/4.125 deals as shelf stock.

I'll be running the PRC 285 big runner heads from TSP and will go with the TI valves for the intake.
Any other recommendation!

Looks like my 4.100 stroke is fine and will be installed ;-)
Any orher suggestion/recommendation for the build!

unless your running a sheet metal intake and some crazy *** heads the bigger the cubes the lower your powerband is going to peak, you may never fully utalize the cubes if you go to big. Piston speed is a big factor and the extra friction from it does rob horsepower but the cubes do make up for it in the same sense a supercharger does by making more than it steals. I personally would use a 4.0 bore and allow for the engine to still be able to breath at around 6500 unless you plan to go sheet metal or high rise manifold, if your using a fast carb style intake then the more stroke the better since you will lose alot of tq with those intakes the stroke will compensate as well as the carb style intake will allow for more air at higher rpms

Now that makes a lot of sense to me.. If you were in my shoe! What would you do?
Your bore is 4.185 and have the option to go with big runner heads like the ls7 285 heads and TI valves?
The only thing that restricts is the compression. Which shouldn't accede 11:8
