False Rumors about Morel lifters.....
It has come to my attention that someone is spreading rumors about Morel lifters and quality issues. The true nature behind this attack is that the "persons" can not buy direct from Morel but can other manufacturers.
Some of the facts. Morel leak test every lifter....thats right every lifter is filled with oil, 97% capacity, and is tested. If it does not pass the minimum of 40 seconds it is rejected. Some "mfg" stuff will not go 11 seconds before leaks down.
Morel contiuously is striving for improvements on product. Ed Morel is a racers and as we all need to go faster parts need to improve. Morel will be introducing new product in the summer of 2014.
Oils. Morel has gone to great lengths with Professional race teams and OEM's with hyd roller oil testing. Today lubricants along with tolerances that can be held require the use of lighter weight oils. Morel recommend nothing heavier than a 5W-40. This is due to the tolerance they can hold on the valving.
The high rpm lifter is not a limited travel. This lifter is designed to operate above 8000 rpm.
The 5274 lifter will do double duty. This lifter fits the early model stuff that the 5206 does and it fits the LSX stuff with the extra head bolt. The only difference is the tie bar. Since the 5274 fits all applications it is easier to keep one part number that can satisfy most needs.
I hope this clears some stuff up.
