My ls1 recently spun a rod bearing so building another 5.3. On my last 5.3 I milled the heads .040 with a .040 gasket and a 218/228 cam. My question is can I do the same or possibly mill a little more with a 228r ? Specs are 228/228 .588/.588 112.

 

You gonna be cutting it close enough that I'd recommend measuring.

 

If you have the engine out of the car it is so easy to check. Why wouldn't you just measure it?
