This is why I weld the Car Shop INC two bolt flange to the tube it deletes the o ring and uses a gasket with both bolts.
O ring gets pinched way to easy.

if i were you i would use the girdle because by looking at the last pic you put up it looks like it is the same as the first pic you posted..i would leave everything lose till i torqued the tube to the oil pump and tweak the tube some till it sits flush..i am going to get this flange for mine so i can have the o-ring and a gasket for added insurance..cut my old one off..bolt the new one on and tack the tube to the new flange..take it off and tig weld it..hth.....thanks for the link Gray86hatch.......Bob
