Default Pilot Bearing tr6060

Hi,

I am installing a tremec tr6060 behind my iron383...I have a pilot bearing in the crank already have no idea what type as it was a second hand eagle crank. Its pushed right in the middle of the crank and quite small if that makes sense...my new tr6060 bearing is larger and sits at the front of the crank in a bigger recess and looks like I could press this in leaving the older one behind this...

Would this cause any problems??

Sounds like you need a sealed ls7 pilot bearing...you could prob get away with leaving the other pilot in the crank..but you wot know til you try to install the ls7 bearing and if there isnt enough clearance then you risk damaging the new pilot/crank...just rent slide hammer/bearing puller and pull the other one out just to make sure...cranks aren't cheap lol

Tr6060 uses the larger of the two pilot bearings. look at your input shaft. The T56 input shaft is longer while the Tr6060 input shaft is stubbier. Also if in doubt measure the input shaft to the bearing depth to double check that you have the correct bearing.

Yes I have the larger bearing already thats what i mean....but looking at where the larger bearing goes in... it wont touch the bearing thats in there at the minute...so would it harm keeping that in there...
