LQ4 Nitrous build
WELL hello guys, I am currently in the slow process of a LS LQ4 swap in my new 99 gmc Sonoma zq8. First thing I am completing is my engine combo. My engine block is now at the local machine shop, be there for the next few weeks id say. OK my situation: Ill be using my stock crank and intake manifold. Its got the 317 heads which I will be using, Comp Cams beehive .625 lift springs, TICK performance SNS torque max stage 2(mild version) camshaft. I got the hedman heeders ls swap kit and swap headers: 1 3/4 long tube 3" collector, Ceramic coated. So Im a little unsure now what to get for my Pistons and rods. The rods will be 4340 forged 6.125 length for sure, thinking on the lunati Rods. I want forged pistons that will get me above 11:1 and can take a 200 shot, The block is stock bore, and it dosent have to be bored either. I didn't want to bore it just to get new pistons if I didn't have to. Id like to use factory size piston if I can to save a few $$...Does anyone know for a good combo and where to get it for my engine??

Any reason why you didn't just leave the internals alone and use them? With some rod bolts, she could take a 200 shot all day long; with the right tune I should say. What kind of Nitrous system are you going with?

I just feel that the forged internals are extra security. Another reason I want pistons is to gain compression because the lq4 had 9.4:1. But most pistons I can find require a 6.125" rod.
