Default Just dynoed, where to now?

Hey guys, just laid down some numbers with my 5.3L LM4 mild cam build 944 swap. Here are the specs and dyno:

- LM4 5.3L all aluminum engine
- Stock heads and bottom end
- TSP224R 224/224 LSA114 with hardened push rods and PAC 1218 valve springs
- LS1 intake, fuel rail, throttle body and injectors
- Custom long tube headers, 2.5" to single 3" Y, 2 straight through mufflers

Just dynoed, where to now?-id0m4y4.jpg

What would be some cheap mods I can do at this point? I'd rather not touch the bottom end, but thought about decking the heads a bit to bump the compression up and possibly do a light port and polish on them. I was also thinking of looking for a LS6 intake, but they seem near impossible to find and expensive (aftermarket options are close to them price wise as well). Is there anything that I could be missing that could help a bit? Thanks!

Take the heads off and get them ported by AI...and grab an ls6 intake...only cost about $1500 all said and done, prob pick up 30-40hp easy

That cam seems a little big for a 5.3 as well, prob why your not hitting 300hp til 5k, but heads and intake will cure that...do you have 799 heads?

The heads are 862s. As noticed, the 862s have 1.89" intake valves and the 799s have 2", so stock 799s would be a decent upgrade, decking or not. I'd like to get somewhere between 10.5:1-11:1 CR, if possible.

I asked bc usually all aluminum 5.3s have 243/799 heads...even porting your current heads would do wonders

sounds like your on the right track. ls6 intake for say $300 (or less), ls6 stage 1 or 2 heads, ported throttle body, UD pulley. you should pick up 30-40 rwhp and get better gas milage than me! cheers!

You should be able to get an ls6 intake for $350-400 shipped or less. Probably sell your ls1 intake for $100-150. It should pick you up 10-15 rwhp easy.

I would have went ahead and done 3" y to 3.5" single exhaust when you were doing that...probably not worth redoing now.

Heads would be about the next thing.
