Simple question... Easy answer???

just bought a cam for my ls and I was looking at springs.. the ones I'm thinking about going with are good up to .600 lift. my cam is .598 .598. are these springs going to suffice? it seems extremely close and I just want to get a second opinion. thanks for any input.

IMHO...I would get some .650" from Texas Speed.

What does the cam manufacturer suggest?

BlaineBakerWS6 09-22-2013 10:56 PM

no clue. bought the cam from a friend.

Cheaper and have yet to have a reported failure.

or step it up a notch and get titanium retainers.

what do you mean by that last part? the reported failure thing? should I go with the brian tooley over the texas speeds I posted?

J, one doesn't choose springs solely on lift capabilities. That is only one criteria and the spring pressures are what should be looked at.
Look at PAC or PSI, can't beat those beehives with stock valves. If duals then look at BTR (Brian Tooley) springs, like the platinum's.

Go tooley

I'd run a 650 dual but thats just me.
