Do ported heads affect drivablity?
I'm starting to think about getting into the motor with my car since I've done most of the bolt-ons and have been very happy with the results. I'm wanting to go with some stage 2 heads and a cam close to these specs 228/228 .570/.570 LSA 114. I've been driven in a few A4 cars with cams close to the specs that I want, but they also had stock heads. Will getting ported heads make the car drive worse or about the same as the cam only cars? Do heads even affect drivabilty? I have a few other questions. Does a cam with the above specs seem ok to use with a occasional 100 hp shot of nitrous? And should I get 3.42 gears or 3.73 gears when I get my 12 bolt? I'm also thinking about changing out my SS3600 for the SS4000 for a little more stall. If you guys could give me your opinions and point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

it will effect the powerband and power of the cam but doesnt effect the driveability of a car much if any. Gears kinda depend on the rest of the combo and your mph goals for the car...if you have the opportuninty I would definitly get restalled to at least the 4000. Dont know how loose the converter is but id assume either of those choices would be good, but personally would go with the 3.73's of the two choices given.

Thanks for the info. What about the cam? I know it should make good power. I should be able to use 100 hp shot of nitrous with that. I'm thinking as long as I don't hit it with too much nitrous, I should be fine.
