Exclamation How worried should I be?

In the middle of doing heads and cam, my first real time inside an engine of any kind. Got the old cam out last night, the front cam bearing got a few nicks and had a spot of copper showing on the upper portion. More concerned about the nicks as my searching has shown that a little copper is normal. What are my options and what concerns should I have?

On a side note, the cam journal was completely smooth, no nicks, pitting, wear spots etc. I got a great picture of the nicks on my cell phone, then zoomed in and took a screenshot of it as close as I could before it got fuzzy. The redness is just some redline assembly lube I put on there after feeling around with my fingers.

Is swapping it out an option? That's what I would do. Looks like it got knicked by pulling the cam out.

If you're ready to pull the motor out and have the cam bearing properly installed, go ahead.

I'd run with it.
