Default Looking for Cam info

I've been reading a lot of posts. Most people are talking about cams for racing applications but I need something that makes good power down low also. I do most of my driving around 3000rpm driving up steep hills. I guess I need a cam that has good torque and hp in that range. A little bit about my setup. I've got 243 heads ported, ls6 intake, 90mm edelbrock throttle body, free flow exhaust, aftermarket Mefi computer which I'll have to retune on a dyno, 36lb injectors. My ls1 is in a sandcar so there will be no smog. My transmission is a 4 speed manual with straight cut gears. Any help will be appreciated.

What's the chamber size(or compression ratio) on your ported 243 heads, and how high to you plan on spinning the motor?

chambers are 63 or 64 whatever's stock. I just measured them with alcohol and it was 63 1/2 cc but my measuring device isn't perfect.

How high do I plan on spinning the motor? Right now I have my rev limiter set to 6800rmp but I may set it higher when I have it tuned. Maybe to 7200rpm. But I'd like to keep it safe.

Okay, so how high(rpms) do you need the HP to peak before rolling off?

For a off-the-shelf grind, CompCams 54-455-11 (215/223 112lsa+5, lift .604"/.610"), or the Cam Motion C33-664 (216/220 112lsa+4, lift .561"/.561").
For a custom cam a Comp Cam 217/222 110lsa+3 (lift .605"/.566") should work good for you. Lobe #s for this cam are 13094 (intake) and 3714(exh.) You're look at your HP peaking roughly around a 5600-5700 rpm with these three cams so I wouldn't set the rev limiter up higher I'd probably drop it down to about 6400rpm, no gain in letting it rev higher.
I'd also get a few recommendations for some of the sponsors(Tick, EPS, Futral, etc..), then make you choice.

So you have a LS6 intake with LS2 snout and when you say free flowing exhaust, open headers? What size primaries exactly? A bump in compression with milling or a thinner head gasket would help low end torque as well, I also would consider a Fast 102 LSXRT.
Feel free to call me to discuss details, Chris 817-750-2000

LS6 intake I picked up a 90mm throttle body but I don't know if I should use it. I have a stock one also. I don't know what size primaries I have. Tell me how to measure them and I can let you know.
