Default I need help with a timing gear(s?) quick

Ok I was out racing last night. We pull over and I got a tapping noise. I pulled the drivers side valve cover this morning cuz it sounds like a valve tap. Well its not, I think its more like the timing chain.
Anyway, when I pulled the valve cover I started it and im not getting alot of oil coming out the pushrods. I was wondering how much should I be getting? Its enuff to be trickling out but its not shooting out like previous motors Ive done.
Also do you think this might be the problem? That Im not getting oil to the front of the motor?
Also I pulled the timing cover and I see 2 sets of gears, one behind the timing gears. The one right behind the top gear sits on the end of the cam and connects to a another gear above it. The one above it moves freely without the lower gear in. Also the big one behind big timing gear has a good bit of movemnet to it. It has the same 3 holes as the timing gear and the 4th hole for the for the little peg on the end of the cam and its that 4th hole where the movement is.
I hope somebody can help

Stick car? Did you miss a shift and overrev a stock motor?

I can't see the timing gear making a noise unless the bolts were backing out and they were making contact with the timing chain cover.

also its got 140k+ so maybe the gears were getting old. It had a fair amount of play in the timing chain so I was thinking it might be that

And it wasnt the timing gears. We got those in and its still making the noise. We were up till later pulling the cpi intake and all that crap and alll the lifters look fine. SO now we think it might be a wrist pin or something like that. Can anybody help?

well the motor is now sitting in the back of a truck! The tranny is out and on the ground. Weird thing is, the drivers side head was brown in tint and clean. The pass side was dirty and black and one journal was blocked off with crap on that side. I think I might go with a .030 over, transgo kit, tranny rebuild kit, cam, headers, torque converter, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc

Ok heres what happened. I went down to Cooks in Miss ready to get the 350. I went in asking for the guy that I talked to on the phone. Well while I was half asleep my roomie drove to the place he wanted me to go and I didnt realize it. I guy inside said that the guy I was looking for was across the street at the place I had called.
I figured I was there so I decided to take a look at what they had. They had a Vortec 350 and even for cheaper than the other place at $1000(without accessories) instead of $1500. I said well lets go look at it and we went for a walk. As we turn a bend I see something familiar. We keep going and see the Vortec and a 4.3 sitting there. They both look good, but my V-6 heritage was calling to me. I asked him about the familiar motor I saw around the turn.
We went back to see a great 94 Caprice LT-1 sitting there with all its parts and harnesses as well as another one around the corner. I asked him how much for both and we pulled the tags and went off to see. When we get to the counter he tells me $800 for the Caprice motor and $1600 for the 95 Camaro motor(both without accessories). So I ask him how much will all the extras like starter, power steering pump, a/c compressor, computer and alternator. After $50 core(Like Im bringing back a motor for $50) and taxes it totaled $1,114! My 4.3 was going to total $1200-$1500 for a rebuild and new crank.
So now after lugging home the Lt-1 and forking out another 1100 to Summit for stuff to make it all work and upgrading my 4L60E Im about ready to make it all work. Now I just need a rebuild kit for the tranny and its go time
