Default Gen3 LS1... 2005+ pistons?

Are any of the 2005+ 5.7 pistons floating with the larger rods? Or is there no such thing?

I have what I was told was a LS6 rotating assy (piston/rod/crank) from 2005+ corvette. I assumed this would have the nicer rods/floating pistons. It does have coated pistons but they are pressed and the same width as the GENIII rods.

I have a 2008 4.8 and a 99 ls1. Trying to decided which will be able to produce more power with boost. Leaning towards the 4.8 at this point. My GEN1 5.3 let loose around 800whp last year...(stock short block) I'd like to make at least that much for next season.

Thanks

I don't think there were any... unless the CTS-V is still a 5.7L in 05-06. But I don't know if it went to the Gen IV floating pin rods (which are better than the pressed pin in the LS1).

I took appart a 2004 GTO 5.7 that had the full float h-beam rods in it vs the old press fit design.

I wonder if all 04s had the full float. GTO and Vette? I think the 5.3L and 6.0L truck motors did. Maybe even some 03s... whenever they changed the fuel system in the Vette. That might be the cutover point?

Bet my chances of finding those will be slim... If anyone has a set and is interested in selling, let me know.

thanks all
