btr's are nothing but ls7's with tighter tolerances. there's a reason they're only $200.

if you want a quality piece, go morel or johnson.

Everything that is in my sig I have. The night I posted this thread I was about to place an order through Tick for the BTR lifters, but I thought I should get a few opinions first between the lifter choices I listed. And yes I am sure I have the SNS stage 3.

I'm running the Morel 5206s, which are link bars. I did a lot of research before going with them, and I have been totally satisfied with them in every aspect. I precisely assembled all of my valve train, using all high quality components and the results are a very quiet valve train, and extremely stable up top. They cost some money but they are worth the insurance and performance/safety they provide.

Pretty much. All of them are Eaton type lifters. The Comp 850s, etc, etc.

Even the Morel 5290s are not much of an upgrade IMO. They are essentially the Eaton OE design with better materials, tolerances, and a captured link-bar (which is a good upgrade).

Going to the Morel 5206 provides the larger wheel and much better materials/tolerances.

But for that price, I went with the Johnsons (ST2126LSR). They are .058" short travel with axle oiling. They have a stock sized axle, but are designed to withstand 900lbs of open pressure and can actually withstand more spring pressure than Morels with the bigger wheel. I'll have to find the literature on it, but I believe it was due to the heavier duty axle retaining mechanism Johnson employs with the OE sized wheel.

No they are not the same as the LS7, not even close. I have taken both apart and inspected. The LS7 uses a check ball in the bottom of the plunger, the BTR uses a spring loaded check disc. The plunger in the BTR is larger diameter which allows more oil in the lifter, so the lifter body itself is slightly thinner. Yes the tolerances are tighter between the plunger and the body. They are cheap because Brain Tooley is a hell of nice guy.

The only thing the same is the wheel diameter and that they fit in an LS/SBC engine.

Do the 5290s have a check ball or disc?

The 5206 and Johnsons are disc based.

I will be running the cam and springs in my sig with these. I will be shifting around 6700-6800rpm. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.
