Default 500 n/a combos

I want to make close to 500 at the tires. N/A stick bore ls1. Any proven combos that can be recommended? I was thinking about some 2.5 243 heads and I have yet to decide on what cam to order. Btr cam or maybe a texas speed cam. Just wondering from people who have done it so I can copy them and save some time and money in the process.

too many threads on this subject .you will need some trick flow 215cnc heads or better .or consider some Texas Speed 225/227,or bigger port heads .contact Pat-G ,or Martin at Tick performance for a custom cam.you will need a fast intake combo.

Your going to have to have a 102, top of the line heads, a custom cam, and spin the motor to the moon to get there.

Well I started reading that thread a while back. Has some broken links in it. I will continue on but seeing as how that thread started a while ago im sure there has been improvements in cam profiles. I was well aware of the intake and exhaust and the rpms it would take I was kinda looking for someone who has done it to say what it took.

Great set of heads, Super Vic. intake with 4150 or 4500 TB and a big cam spec'd for the combo.

I was reading a thread that had a super vic intake. Ill have to think about that route. Dont know about hood clearance in a c5. And if I did that I would probably have to go to speed density. Not that im opposed to that.

Yeah, the big downfall to the Super Vic. 4150/4500 TB route is the clearance. It will require cutting of the cowl and sometimes it even means losing your wipers (or at least the passenger side one). With that said, in my opinion, it's a far better route than the overpriced FAST intakes. Plus, with the right cam and combo, the power down low in the RPM range will be just as good as with a FAST intake and the upper RPM range will blow a FAST out of the water.

Eagle Crank 4 inch Stroke/ H beam Rods 6.125 inch
2 Gallon A.R.E. 3 Stage Dry Sump- Stainless Lines to everything
A/N Fittings for Everything
Runs on a fixed speed density tune not MAF

That's not a stock 346. At all.

OP, here's the thread you need to read.

Wow. Little more involved than what I was looking for. When I decide on a big bore or stroker build ill try something like that.

434 with 560rwhp... Throw LS7 heads on there and shoot for 650.

As for heads/cam... I'll let you know how close I get with a big stalled A4.

the Ls7 heads are in the works along with a bigger cam and a much needed 102mm TB. once she got up around 4.5k+ you could tell it was getting suffocated by the little 90mm.also looking at going to a 4.25" crank, making somewhere in the nieghborhood of a 468ci

OP don't forget to bring a briefcase full of $$$$ cause that is what its going to take to reach that magic 500 RWHP. It can be done with a 346 cu. in. motor. But it will not be inexpensive in any way shape or form. The old rule of there is no substitute for cubic inches is still in effect in the 21st century just like it was in the 20th. Bigger is always better if you don't believe me ask your girl friend/wife. It is usually the least expensive way to reach big HP/TQ. A 400 cu. in short block with good heads and a good cam is probably cheaper and more reliable in the long run.
