L33 Build Hey guys, I picked up a L33 short block for cheap. I want to build it to 350-400whp autocross/road course racing and the odd drag race event. I choose this block because its aluminum so is about 100lbs lighter than my LT1 block and has the LSx reliability and aftermarket support.
Where should I start? I am going to take it to a professional engine builder for assembly and install but I am curious are all the LS parts interchangable? can I use a LS1 crank and just the smaller 5.3 pistons or do I need to stick with the stock steel crank? if theres any links for building one of these for all motor applications I'd appreciate the info.
