Default LQ4 build questions

I recently got an LQ4 as a trade for some other parts I had. I plan on using this engine for my upcoming project which is going to be a carb setup. I am trying to keep it more on the cheaper side of things, so a fancy aftermarket forged rotating assembly is out of the question. I would however like to get some more displacement out of it and achieve 12:1+ CR. Would it be possible to run the stock crank, LS3 rods and some sort of piston with valve reliefs for a bigger cam? I know the heads play a role in CR but right now i'm undecided on what heads I will run.

Wiseco has their Junkyard Dog pistons for the stock pin. PN K0044X2 is for a 4.020" bore (368ci) and has a 9cc dome, which will give you ~12.4:1 CR with a 66cc chamber.

Thank you, that's exactly what I'm looking for!
