Default Mods question

Hello I am new here and new to the Ls1. I have always been old school carb and points kind of guy. I just got a 2000 ws6 ta as far as free mods will cutting the Egr really do anything and will it turn on the service engine light. It's pretty stock except for flow master exhaust. I am really suppressed as to how fast this car is. Any suggestions on mods? I don't want to worry about anything that pulls up to me at a red light! Especially new mustangs

Welcome to LS1tech Lynnard! SEARCH will be your best friend around here.

Short answer, no, eliminating the EGR won't really offer much of a performance gain. As the PCM looks for it, if you remove and unplug it, the PCM will set a code.

If you remove it, you can have it tuned out from the PCM.

Well I'm running 8.17 with nothing but a converter, lid, and a flow master exhaust. Rear seat delete and drag radials, 100% bone stock suspension. If you're auto I'd go converter, full exhaust, ls6 intake, some suspension and a good tire with a time. You'll be there easily on a stock motor.
