Right now I am just putting together the bottom end. This is a very slow build because I know all sorts of new parts are coming soon. But the bottom end of the new LT1 will be easy to duplicate(minus oil jets) except for the pistons which have the LT1's eutectic aluminum alloy piston which features a direct injection fuel bowl and deep enough valve relief’s to accommodate cam phasing. There's also a skirt notch for the oil jet.

On why I would convert an LQ4 into a LT1 with all the latest upgrades goes without saying. The wealth of knowledge and excitement of the build should be enough, and I don’t buy junk. Its not trouble it is an adventure.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but the engines you refered to are not iron blocks

Me too!

I think I know who it is, he slipped up and made a post saying the same thing in the IV section and quoting prices on DI heads.

I post here mainly because of the member sponsors especially TSP. They are the only ones that seem to know anything. I understand the insecurities of members who take their junkyard crap to the machine shop and can’t chew gum and read at the same time, let alone install a pair of heads. It’s one thing to talk about something and think your some kind of forum hero….but building it all yourself is what its all about.

By the way… maybe you could tell me the date the new LT1 was announced for production
