Default Oil pump install question...

So I am putting a high volume oil pump in my LS1. I am at the point where I need to lower the oil pan but I am having problems breaking it loose. I have all the bolts loose on the bottom, but I didn't take them out completely. Do I need to take them out in order to break the pan free? How much force does it take to break free? I am afraid to pry on it too much so I don't damage it. There are a couple bolts in a really hard to reach spot so I am trying not to remove all of them. Thanks in advance for your help fellas.

do you have the long bolts in the back out and the ones that run through the transmission bellhousing?

I took the 4 bolts out in the back, including the ones attached to the bellhousing.

there are some that are underneath the k-member that are a bitch to see and to get too. i have to use a ratcheting wrench to get to them. i would just remove the bolts all the way. the pan doesnt drop down very far though. when you are working on the oil pump shove some paper towels or rags in the oil pan so if u do drop something in there it falls on the the rags and not all the way in your oil pan.

It really won't come down more than ~1/4". You can still get a wrench on the pickup tube bolt though.

I would recommend trying to keep one pair of bolts in by just a hair both front and back so that you can be sure the gasket is lined up.

I have all of them loose, it is not moving at all though. I'll have to give it a shot again tomorrow morning. Thank you for the help.
