i'm going to start with the .075 pre-load. if i have to go higher i will take a trip down to Winner circle in Joliet (AKA loser circle) The old man down there can get the 7.450 for 99.99 and have them in a day or two.

Ahhh got to love seeing some J-Town love on the forum. I grew up there. you may of seen me before. use to work in auto parts in Joliet for about 10 years lol
and yes its true it is hard to find places like winner circle now a days. I'm kinda shocked he has 3 stores. Sucks that the Joliet one is still the close one... I hate the east side of town. But if I'm going I may as well stop and get some chicken-N-spice LoL

Just got the new 7.425 push rods installed and its sooo much better...... Thank you all for the help! Idle's better, started easier, and the exhaust tone sounds so much better!

the preload necessary isnt determined by just the Lifters
its determined more by the cam lobes
stock lobes are designed to be in the .060~.080 preload
aftermarket lobes are designed to be run in the .020~.060 range
also, LS7 lifters bottom out around .130, so trying to run .090 or .100 preload is pushing it...when you get lifter toss(and you will always get a small amount of lifter toss), its going to push down more.....possibly bottoming out the Ls7 lifter, leading to eventual failure.
