End gap

What is the norm for piston gap on a gen3 5.3, doing the math I take the bore 3.780 x .004 correct? So roughly .016 top ring then add 20%/30% so second ring .018, is this correct.
Going to be a DD blazer slight mods cam/ some head work and a ls6 intake other then that stock. So what do you LS guys recommend for ring gap, should I just go with what I listed above?
Any input would be appreciated.

Another part to the question is do you need to file if you purchased Hasting rings, was told by the parts person that they were manufactured to fit a standard bore and no filing required, just want to make sure I have the right gap prior to installing pistons, any help appreciated.

Put a ring in the cylinder and use a piston to square it up about an inch below the deck surface. Then use a feeler gauge to measure the gap.
