I got the 317s done no issues at all with them,I had them welded up to 64cc so actually now it's basically a 243 head without the price.now I have 11.0cr on my lq9

AI does it for $200

Awesome company. You can find 317s for $100. Tough to find even 799s now for under $450, so this is a good alternative. Forget about the ls6 heads, people basically think they're made out of gold now.

AI does a wonderful job. I use their 219 program on my 241s and I daily drive that setup supercharged. No issues due to welding and I'm at 11:1 (on my C5).
Yes I know it is a bit high for supercharger setup but I have a cam with a power-band and shift points in the 6200 rpm only running 7 psi boost Magnacharged.

Welding them is fine and AI is great. Any issue with the valve seat would be moot once the heads cooled back down from the welding. Most likely they do a little on each chamber. So that each chamber has 7 others to wait on between welding sessions.

That's not bad at all, considering most milling services run well over $100. And this is getting compression without affecting the head and without killing PTV.

Next time these heads come off, I'm getting them down to 58cc for some madd compression.

Welded up chambers are a good option. I have 241s sitting here that I've thought about sending off to AI for weld and port job (58cc chambers). I'm thinking of picking up another LS based vehicle as a daily and would use the AI heads on it.

I am in process of installing AI 5.3 heads that were welded up to 60cc without milling. Beautiful craftsmanship you can only tell were the weld is by a very slight color difference from the stock casting. Port work is almost to nice to hide inside the motor.

I should send my bsp ls3 heads to them for this service. If I could get 11.5:1 compression out of those heads, what a difference.

Hmm that opens up more options though. I used to shy away from LS3 heads due to their big chambers and the fact that it would be tough to build compression on your typical flat top forged piston with -3 to -5 cc. But now that I know AI can weld other heads, I might pick up some cheap LS3s, do their basic valve job and exhaust porting work, weld up em to some high 50s ccs and boom you have a killer flowing head with high compression and lightweight valves.

Ya, on the 5.7s and 6.0s, they don't even need port work either. You could have a pretty nice budget head.

That's true with the LS3s. I would see if AI could weld them up and offer with the 2.08/1.60 valves that others offer for small bore ports. I bet AI could work with you on that as well.
