Default Cam or Converter?

With car in sig should i get a cam with springs, etc and timing chain/ oil pump or a converter? I'm doing a LS6 intake right now so the car is already torn apart part way for a cam. If i get a cam think stock tranny/rear will handle it? Thanks for the input

Man, i dont have one YET but im sure alot of the guys will tell you to get a TC/tranny cooler and maybe a shift kit. And an extra step maybe 3:42's or 3:73's.... Just my .02! If you plan on doing both (which im sure you are) (like me) Try to get a good combo. Im sure youll get some answers on which set up will be the best!!! Im not sure cause im still saving for all that!

I plan on doing like a 228 cam and a Tci 3800 TC.. Think that will work..

Converter and then, cam.

With your set-up, you will need a nice converter with a 2.3-2.5 STR if you plan to keep the 2.73's. I had the 2.73's and switched to 3.42's and it was worth it. This is what I would do in your situation.

Get a rearend from a M6, already has 3.42's in it.
Get a 3500-3800 stall converter with a 2.0 STR
Get a B&M 24,000 GVW Cooler
Get a FMS F10 Cam (228/228 0.575/0.575 114LSA)

I will have some numbers soon since this is the combination that I have and dynoed 322rwhp before the cam.
