Default Bottom End LS1 Build Questions

I am digging into my first LS1 and have a few questions. I will be keeping the stock crank, but what are some good choices for forged pistons/rods? The goal of this build is reliability, hoping to end up with around 400-500rwhp (probably Trick Flow 515 top end kit or something similar), and maybe some spray eventually. I just want to build the strongest bottom end I can and not have to worry about it in the long run.

Suggestions?

(I have spent days digging through old posts and there is so much dated and conflicting info I wanted to get some newer insights on this. Thanks!)

Well at 500 rwhp there really is no need, but if you still want to i'd highly reccommend giving Thompson Motorsports a call.

We have some great rods and pistons available and on the shelf to ship immediately. We also keep short blocks in stock. If we can help in any way please let us know.
Thanks again for the bump HCI2000SS.
