Default Crank Sensor hitting 408

I'm having an issue with my LQ9 408 stroker build.

Engine block is a 2003 6.0
My crank is a ProComp, Rods are K1's 6.125 and pistons are Auto Tec custom built for the 823 heads w/ 2 reliefs with high skirts fro the stroker crank.
I'm having an issue with my crank hitting my CKP by .050.
My CKP is from Napa part # MPE CSS146SB for the 5.3, 5.7 & 6.0 engines.

Has any one ever had this issue and what did you do to fix the issue?

ProComp? Did that kill the sensor? Try spacing the sensor out some.

Some crank sensors come with shims to space it away from the reluctor wheel.

I'm friends with the OP, so I know a little background on the situation. The reluctor doesn't stick out further than the counterweight, so only the counter weight hit the sensor. The sensor was notched by the counterweight as shown in the picture. He's going to check the sensor to reluctor clearance and make sure it's good. I think what he's wondering is if anybody else has run into this same problem, and if it's possible to just notch the sensor to clear it? Eric L

Pull the crank and cut the counterweight and rebalance.

If you space the sensor you will have problems with pickup.

K, that was what we thought but wanted to see if maybe there was a way to fix it with out that much trouble.
Can the Counterweight trigger the CKP like the reluctor?

Just wanted to update this thread:
I have nailed down what took out my CKP and it wasn't the Crank Counter Weight it was the weld from the added Malory from balancing.
It is right on the edge of the rear Counter Weight and very proud so I will have to remove the motor and take the crank out and beat my engine shop.

What stroke both my eagle and callies just needed a little drilling to balance. Must not have come with a rough balance target weight.

At least it is not a huge deal just a pain. Not like you were going to drive it anyway lol. Dam snow

A nice slow thaw is what we need. If all this snow melted in a week or two we would be screwed..................and under 3 feet of water, lol. Eric L
