Default Reluctor problems....

A friend of mine has been having issues with a LS2. It's actually spun the rod bearing 3 times now. The tuner said the first time he tuned it, he couldn't give it enough timing for some reason, he stopped around 24 degrees any way.

It spun a bearing, machine shop fixed it and next time took it for a tune it would detonate with anything more than 14 degrees. It spun another bearing.

The machine shop bought a reluctor ring fixture and this is what we found. First pic is a random crank, the 2nd, my buddies.

Wondering if this could be causing the issues
