Default Pushrod question

Hello...i just want to say this site is a great asset...i have bought my first ls car a 1999 camaro ss. I think i may have a bad pushrod or lifter (hope its a pushrod) and have a question. Does the engine need to be at tdc when i remove a rocker to get to a pushrod to remove it? Thank you in advance.

Nope not unless your pulling springs. When you torque the rocker back down its proper procedure to have it TDC but some don't.
