budget silverado build First real post on the forum. Just wanna say hello and that I love this forum. Lot of great knowledgeable people. Im soon going to be tearing into my stock 02 silverado 4.8. Been researching and debating on doing a simple bottom end rebuild and running a decent sized cam paired with some 243s or just buying a crate ls1/6. Any suggestions? I will be retaining truck accessories. And I plan on a walbro in tank and probably getting some stock ls6 injectors. This is a dd project. So dont want a radical high stalled truck. Just lookin for a decent/dependable setup thatll put the truck in the 12's and keep daily drivability. Is the cammed 4.8 a waste of time or what? Not alot of experience wirh those motors. Ive had a ls1 cammed gto that was in the 11s that I built but not sure what kinda power the 4.8 can put out safely with essentially stock bottom end. Open to all suggestions and input.
