Default Help diagnose smoking

Ok so before winter my car didn't burn or use any oil. Over winter I did a complete bolt on ls1 with ms3 cam all supporting mods. Got it running around 3-4 weeks ago and have been occasionally driving it I've raced it about 4 times and the last time or two someone said they thought they had seen smoke. Last Saturday I went with a group to the local drag strip and noticed lower oil pressure on the way stopped checked my oil and I was like a quart and a half low. Filled up got there made one pass and I had a haze the whole way down the strip. It wasn't bad but was a appearant it was smoking. Decided to call it quits and on the way home started to develop a tick buy the time I got home it was a pretty good erratic knock. Pulled the motor and found one of my brand new intake lifter hat locks had come out and the hat was just bouncing around. Sorry for the long post but wanted to explain in full do you think my smoke is cause by
1. Bad rings
2. Bad Pcv system
3. Don't know if it's possible but that lifter?
I know it's not the valve seals because they were new and it was only under hard acceleration I'm talking +4/5k. I did notice the intake was oily and the plugs were clean.

I'm going to be putting rod bolts in it while it's out and I plan to go ahead and throw new bearings in it but I don't want to deal with a re hone and everything for new rings if I don't have to and it's to late to check compression because the heads are already off

Is the smoke coming. From the tailpipes or the engine bay? If it's the tailpipes good chance it could be rings or Bad lifter will lower oil pressure and could cause the valve not to open and close. Usually when your a quart low I don't believe that affects the oil pressure gauge enough to pull over to refill I think the lifter was taking a **** on you or oil pump. Could have to do with the size pushrods you put on cam or old lifter. Just my .02 cents good luck keep us posted

Smoke was from tailpipes. All lifters where new. I was running like 20lbs oil pressure. Could the failing lifter cause the smoke or pcv? I just find it hard to believe it's the rings seeing that it never smoked or burnt a drop before the cam and oilpump and springs
