Default Have full access to a machine shop

Howdy, I'm looking at doing a 5.3/6.0 swap in a 3rd gen camaro. I have found a 6.0 lq4 with harness, computer, accessories, and 4l80e. Anyways, I know alot of people would just throw it right into the project car, but I am lucky enough that my Father owns a Napa store with a full machine shop. So labor doesn't really cost me much of anything at all, what would you suggest I have done to the block/heads? I've heard that porting the heads isn't really worth it too much with these blocks. I'm not sure if it would be worth shaving the heads or boring the cylinders since it is already a 6.0.

Any opinions are welcomed!

Don't get me wrong, I don't have a pocket full of cash, so I don't intend on buying a whole new rotating assembly and going crazy. Probably ls1/6 intake and a mild cam. This will be a weekend cruiser

Dang you are a lucky dude. I hope you know that.
My pop works on telephone systems in large office buildings, so I'm set for that sweet hook-up, lol

My time would be spent opening up the intake valve throats to like 90% of the valve seat dia. then a super nice 5 angle valve job.

I opened mine up from a 4" to a 4.065" bore and used stock LS3 rods and pistons. Not only is the extra displacement nice, but having the cylinders torque plate honed is a big advantage too.
