Idk about noticeable lobe and instant off idle response especially on 87 octane.

i am not that cam savvy so its a best guess for a cam.
Hope to get an idea on what point torque and hp should peek
Also hoping for a bit of a lope
i dont want to "Have" to always run premium gas
As im not savvy on DCR how would this work out an a bone stock 98 ls1 from an fbody
only swapping out the intake to use a truck intake and 208/218 110 l/s +4 advance cam??? Someone must have an idea...

Some one has to have an idea

I came up with about a 8.44 DCR. should work good, lots of trq, and run smooth!
FYI, that cam has to much negative overlap (-11*) to have any lope, and going down to a 110 lsa isn't really going to change it that much with the small 208 intake duration. You'll gain a little bit of DCR 8.56, and it'll have a little bit of a cam sound with having -7* overlap. Now as far as power band both will peak before 5700rpm. Roughly around 5200rpm with the 110lsa, and 5400rpm with the 112lsa.
I'd go up some on the intake duration if you want it to peak around 5700rpm.

I'd do something much crazier... 221/228 LSL/LXL 108+4...

DCR of 8.44 but the IVC is ~35 degrees and the overlap is ~9 degrees. It will lope pretty hard and have a torque curve similar to a stock cam, but will come on just a tad bit sooner... just with a lot more power.

Default Goals Refined (thanks Jake)

Original Thought Process Went something like this~
cam only and ls6(cheap) springs only swap
off idle power and all about torque
Peek torque at close to 4,000 rpms
nice Lope the more the better
Com Cams xr259hr adv. 800 to 5,800 rpms (206/212 @ 112 ls) 2* advance
Sounds perfect but 2 things~
peek tq seems to be around 4,300 rpms and No Lope!
Next is the 062 Crane/vinci 210/218 .551 112 l/s 5* advance
a little closer on the lope but peek tq is prob around 4,700?
Took an educated estimate using a stock ls1 stock manifolds (truck) intakeand came up way off. 10 Will i have to go the route of even less L/S ?
As a newbie trying to read and ramp up my understanding my hear is spinning

Well if you're considering a somewhat larger cam, I'd first recommend a higher stall TC (2600-3k) .
217/224 110lsa +4, LSL/XE lobes.
DCR is about 8.39, IVC is roughly 34.5*, overlap is +.5* so you'll know it's got a performance cam in it, but it'll still run fairly smooth.

Default Still need more Low End Tq

i really love the idea of the 221 cam but it moves the powerband up and its not what im seeking. Looking at the 206/212 112 l/s cam tq pk @ 4,300
im still seeking to bring the tq peek down to around 4,000 and at the same time make it lope. i know this sounds Crazy and totally unconventional but assume its possible. starting to thing think "Slightly" lower L/S something like 109 or maybe even 108 i dont know and around 110 intake duration.

The powerband of that 221 cam is lower than the stock cam based on IVC. Don't just look at duration. Look at the valve events.

A 104 ICL is super early.
