Custom Pushrod Lengths?
Typically, the 7 fall into a range of 7.361 > 7.369 (zero lash), + .075 pre for Comp 850-16 lifters.
A tech at Jegs, who sells Comp 7.425 & 7.450, referred me to Comp, with the understanding that Comp could make me some custom 7.440 rods.
Later, the rep @ Comp replied that Comp only sells 7.425 & 7.450/no custom pushrods.
I could juggle the 7 sizes around a bit and compromise, but I prefer to stay within a range of +/- .004, or so.
Where do I go from here? Is the compromise to go to an undersized 7.425 and call it day?
They made me a custom length taper. It was done and to my door in 3 days. He made a point of telling me he could make ANY length, not just what was advertised.

If, for example, I compromise, and use a 7.450. How much preload is too much, causing a valve to stay open?
Conversely, can a 7.425 apply too little preload?
Comp recommends a range of, I believe .030 > .040. Is there that much latitude?
I'm just wondering, as some people I trust have recommended .075 as the target.
