Default Ls6 intake worth the $

Looking to swap out my Ls1 intake for the Ls6 my question is for the gain in HP is it worth the cost. So far all im seeing is the normal ebay garbage 350-500$ ie I hate the auction crap haha, so is it worth it or should I go another route?

Id spend $350-400 for an LS6 intake that should easily net 10-20 hp long before Id spend it on a catback that might net 5 hp.

Thanks for all the replies now is there anything more I would need to know before purchasing. Is it a straight swap or would I need anything extra to along with it? ie fuel rails, tb anything like that I should know about?

You will need to clearance the bottom of the intake to clear the coolant lines. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward iirc.

Remember when installing the intake to look out for the oil pressure sensor. It's located at the driver side rear end at the very back of the engine. From my research it is common to break these. I just recently installed my FAST 90 on an broke mine off at the base. Easy fix just had to take off the intake again to do it.

That's a drag you broke it off just more work to do, but thanks for the warning I will be sure to watch for it. By shaving off do you mean all the crossed plastic lines on the bottom?

Yea that's right. You can use a hammer and a chisel or flathead screwdriver. Don't have to remove all of them though, just the ones in the way.

I am also interested in buying an LS6 for my 1999 Camaro SS.

Other than the actual intake manifold, what other parts are needed for the swap? How much to expect to pay for these additional parts?

Do you require a tune after installing the LS6?

You need to change your coolant lines to the ls6 front coolant lines and rear block off plugs no tune is required after installation other then removing the egr if you don't have it then it's no problem

You don't have to. It's recommended not to if you can avoid it. Just clearance the ribs on the bottom and keep the stock lines.

I kept my LS1 lines unto I switched to a FAST.
