Default Driving untuned.... 408

I previously had a stock bottom heads/cam/fast/100mm maf car. It blew and now I'm going to a 408. I'll be running same injectors, maf, headers etc. Just different heads/cam/bottom end. Will the car be ok to drive on the tune for the other set up to break the engine in and drive to the dyno? In no way will I be going wot. Granny driving.

I wouldn't. With the MAF and same injectors it MIGHT keep fueling close enough but not worth the risk IMO. Lot of money wasted if you try and "save" a $150 flatbed ride and glaze the bores screwing up ring seal or worse case if it detonated and did damage.

I am sure the build tapped finances a bit but a little more cash to protect it is worth it.

Hauling it to the tuner (5 hours away) wasn't the issue. Its breaking in the engine before they throw it on the dyno.

Couldn't you just go the mail order route until you have time to run it on the dyne?

Prolly the best person to ask is the tuner, they would know better than any keyboard jocky.

I would break it in on the dyno or at least get a tune in it and maybe break it in on the street by the tuner before strapping it down.
