Default Cleaning the aluminum engine

I was considering painting my engine but have started considering leaving it aluminum and spraying a coat or two of high heat clear. Is there a product you guys are using to clean and shine it? My block is not all that bad, very little surface corrosion.

Eagle 1 aluminum mag wheel cleaner. There are several formulas out (EAGLE brand) so you need to read the fine print. IIRC it says not for polished wheels. IT will say it is xxxx acid. So use in a well ventilated area and don't breath in the fumes. This stuff works amazing. Try using the SEARCH function in the top menu bar.

degreaser or acid and then high temp high pressure wash should make it look clean and new

if you let the acid sit too long it might get chalky, so be cautious and experiment with it

it it's mostly clean already the tire/wheel option at your local car wash might work as well as anything and it will only cost you about a buck to spray it down then another to rinse it off
