just rebuilt a 6.0 all new bearing, g.m. high volume oil pump, new cam, cam bearings, and lifters. had 20 psi oil pressure at idle once hot after heat cycles. rev engine oil pressure was 50 psi at 4000 rpm. ran car on dyno same oil pressure. made first pass down track. ok. sittin gin pits doing some adjustments to carb. heard like a slight ticking noise. sounded like a lifter noise. oil pressure dropped to 10psi at idle. removed valve cover on side thought noise came from. nothing wrong. any sugestion on where to start to look? oil pump, spun cam bearing, lifter?

Check for metal in the oil, That will tell you right away if you have major problem with bearings/cam lobes and so on. Metal in the oil will tell you right away if something is failing. It could be something as simple as the oil pump O ring.
I will also add....The noise you hear may not be the problem but caused by it. Lifters need decent oil pressure or they will start to make noise so anything that causes a low oil pressure situation will also lead to lifter noise.
