Default LS1 Debris in pan - help!

So I had just ran the engine pretty hard and it then had a tapping sound coming from the right head and it would not idle. After removing the valve cover I found a rocker that had lost it's needle bearings, a broken valve spring and a bent valve.

I removed the pan to get all of the needle bearings and found the debris below. And I found two more needle bearings than should have been in the engine. Really odd, I have owned the engine for the last 8,000 miles and have had the heads and pan off before.

I seperated the debris into two pictures.

The stuff on the left is metal with rubber attached to it and the stuff on the right is rubber. I'm not missing any valve seals. What is this?? An old valve seal??

At first I thought this was bearing material, but it is magnetic and some of it is very large pieces. I have not found any nonmagnetic metal.

Went throught last two oil filters and did not find much. I have not removed any bearing caps, but it does not look like it has been hot and everything looks good. I hate to desturb the bearings if they are not the culprit.

Any ideas on where this debris came from??????????? I've got the right head off, pan off, left valve cover off, valley cover off and don't see the problem.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't appear to have any leaks.

Heads and pan off, before. Did that include the lifter cover?? If not, could well be that the "stuff was there from the last time it blew up, and made it's way to the pan, afterward?

Yep. Lifter covers were off. I still think it was old debris but not sure where it could have been.

Thought I would update this post for others. The debris turned out to be a valve seal that must have came off and went through the duel springs.
