Default rocker arms?

Alright fellows give me the low down on the 1.85 rocker arms. who's used them and what results did you have? dyno numbers would be awsome. i know a cam would be better but i'm just curious about the gains from replacing the stock rockers with the slp/crane rockers. thanks for the imput.

You'll also need better valve springs when going with 1.85 rockers(ls6 springs at least).
IMO, unless you're getting the 1.85 rocker arms used at a good price, don't speed the money

Correct me if I am wrong please guys but a higher rocker ratio(short of some geometry difference that may change things slightly) just adds more lift to the cam. A good cam will change all kinds of factors(duration, ramp rate, etc.). It's more work to change the cam but it occurs to me that if this were a really fruitful upgrade by itself that there would be a lot of guys also putting in cams with everything the same except for more lift and I don't see that much. Also it seems that once you are at 1.8+ you have to be concerned with how that would affect total lift on a future cam swap.

Is there additional benefit to the higher ratio that I am not thinking of or unaware of?

Thanks.

i read a tech article years ago in one of the major magazines where it produced good results. the problem is it was 10 years ago or better and i don't remember which one it was. lol

For the investment involved to make them work, there are better ways to get the minor hp increase that will result. Also, if you have an auto, a converter is a much better investment.

Also down the road you find a nice used cam you want, likely won't be configured to work with said 1.85 rockers. I think if you want numbers you could do the math on the increased lift of your stock cam, and figure out how much more your heads flow at that increased lift, and kinda figure a rough estimate from there(~10% more lift?).

Look here:

And here is what is involved in installing them..

Seems like a good deal if for some reason you never see yourself installing a cam but rockers plus springs gets pricey.
