Default Engine swap

I'm doing an LS series swap into my 1995 z28 but I just can't decide between an LS2 or LQ4 and what cam MTI R1, TU1, or TU2? If you have any other suggestions such as turbos, twin turbos, or nitrous. I'm shooting for above 500 horsepower overall or rwhp and if I can get over 1,000 horsepower those setups are very much appreciated!

I'll take the first broad shot here though I am not an expert at all. It looks like your signature has already made a few decisions for you though?

LQ4 is cheap. Dirt cheap. Dish pistons already so low compression ratio and would be suitable for mild boost. Iron block is heavier but strong and built properly can handler as much power as you want to throw at it.

LS2 is more money but an easier way to go aluminum block if you want to save ~100lbs off the nose of your car. Aluminum blocks can be made to handle a lot of power also.

What's the budget? And how much power do you really want and how hard are you willing to work/spend to get there? 500HP and 1000HP are both doable but like the difference between a Cessna and the space shuttle.

Good luck either way!

The LQ4 is going to be cheaper, and make that power no problem with the right setup

Yeah I know that's why I'm leaning towards the LQ4 because its dirt cheap to build, readily available, and you don't have to pay arm and a leg for parts like the LS2 lol but I'm more familiar with the LT1 cam and heads and don't know much about the best brands for the LQ4 I just want a good lopey and choppy cam idle and i was thinking L92 heads but I need advice lol
