Default need cam recommendations for 99 camaro

car is a 99 camaro with a stock 130k mile motor, 3600 converter, 3.73 gears

Looking for something reasonably streetable, but it is mainly a drag car. Not looking to rev it over 6200rpm due to the mileage on the motor. Looking to just drop it in and get it tuned, no piston notching or anything like that. Must idle good and be easy to tune, because I'm going with a mail order tune. Thanks

Any plan to add longtubes or an exhaust in the future?

no. not with this motor. I'm building up another motor for next year to use with a supercharger. Just looking to get the car running by the fall and figured I'd throw a cam in it now since I need a tune for the converter and gears anyway

228r seems to come into these applications. that and you can find them used for fairly cheap.

Talk to the guys at Texas Speed. They have a lot of knowledge/good prices on this sort of stuff.
